There is a need for evidence-based practice in compulsory psychiatric care and forensic psychiatry.
The proposed National Interdisciplinary Research School in Compulsory Psychiatric Care and Forensic Psychiatry aims to gather national and international expertise to create a modern and stimulating research environment for ensuring the education of future excellent researchers within compulsory psychiatric care and forensic psychiatry.
With an interdisciplinary and co-productive focus, the research school covers fundamental aspects of psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, psychology, sociology, law and ethics concerning research.
The research school for doctoral students consists of five courses and synthesis activities in the form of workshops, writing retreats and school conferences over two years.
The school is organised by the University of Gothenburg and Lund University and supported, and partly co-produced, by several psychiatric and forensic psychiatric clinics and user organisations.
The school is managed through a Steering Committee and an Executive Group with a Reference Advisory Group from the supporting organisations.
We will strengthen internationalising through courses and seminars on international conditions and teachers from countries other than Sweden.
The research school holds the potential for the continued development of evidence-based practice and excellence in psychiatric and forensic psychiatric clinical settings.
