Since ChatGPT was released the discussion on artificial intelligence (AI) has exploded. In an educational context, AI challenges views on, e.g., teaching, learning and assessment.
The aim of this application is to establish an interdisciplinary Nordic network for exploring how AI affects education in the Nordic countries.
Due to the fast AI development and its potential implications for education, there is a need for collaboration, dialogue and exchange of experiences, to build deeper understanding, contribute to current knowledge and facilitate sound decision-making.
AI is a global development and many systems are created by big tech companies, but culture and values play an important role in how and when the solutions can and should be implemented. Therefore, the discussion on AI in education needs to be situated in a more local context.
The Nordic countries share many similarities and a joint discussion on how to approach AI in education can guide both practice and policymaking across borders. The network´s main goal is to facilitate and promote cross-Nordic, interdisciplinary collaboration and research. Another important goal is to synthesize insights and disseminate these to a wider public.
Results will be regularly communicated to educators, stakeholders and policymakers.
The network is initiated by Swedish and Finnish researchers from computing and learning sciences, and during the project, the network will be expanded to include other Nordic countries and disciplines.
