The EQUITÉ workshop addresses a need for more knowledge about the role of digital technology for different students´ possibilities to develop subject knowledge from an equality perspective. The purpose is twofold.
Firstly, we want to work with re-analyses of existing videoethnographic data from subject didactic perspectives to deepen the understanding of variation between student experiences in relation to opportunities to develop subject knowledge in technology rich classrooms.
Secondly, the aim is to develop a new research design that makes it possible to reach a broader representation of students in a new research application focused on student diversity and subject knowledge from the perspective of equality in technology rich education.
The workshop will be organised around four two-day meetings during two years, located in different research environments where invited seminars around key interests in parallel to joint work with analyses and development of a new research design in the project group will provide solid ground for a research application that is better aimed at exploring relations between new digital technologies, student diversity and equity through education.
The workshop thus addresses contemporary challenges related to knowledge and inclusion in a digital society at risk of widening differences, with a specific focus on the role of education.
