Purpose and goal:
The main challenge - there is a lack of a national data space for sharing data between health care and secondary user. The goal of SARDIN is to create a HealthDataBank where researchers and innovators can share and access health data.
A secure environment for data processing is described in EHDS (a proposal for regulation), where it is called "Secure Processing Environment" (SPE). SARDIN intends to contribute to value creation by making healthcare data (initially synthetic data) available to researchers and innovators in a SPE, with support for decentralized data analysis.
Expected results and effects:
We will create solutions where researchers, innovators and entrepreneurs can share and access health data in a secure, transparent, easily accessible, simple, and unified way to drive research, development and innovation. Furthermore, the intention is to try to increase the use of health data to promote equal health, and to develop new treatment methods, products, and services.
In a first step, Regions, academia, and SMEs get access to synthetic data, which can show how secondary use of data can be improved. Approach and implementation:
Activities within the project will be to create and use synthetic data and to develop a national data centre. The project will use an iterative development process - design, development and testing of a prototype for data sharing, rights management, and secure data analysis. In parallel, the project will explore the regulatory framework for data sharing with a focus on EHDS as well as technical interoperability and EHDS.
To understand the users (researchers, registry centre and companies) of the Secure Processing Environment (the HealthDataBank), user scenarios will be created.
