ORB: Pioneering Graph Database Technology using Generative AI

Purpose and goal:

Orb DB is in an early prototype phase and the project involves the development of the query execution pipeline and implementing operators. These operators will showcase the concept of delegating computation to AI tasks (in the embedding space). Expected results and effects:

The project aims to develop a TRL-3 proof-of-concept for an AI-accelerated graph database, including a client interface, a query model builder, and a query execution engine. It will enable users to input their data, queries, and associated uncertainty bounds. Approach and implementation:

Effort will be dedicated to developing a working prototype and moving to a seed funding phase by the latest beginning of 2025. Depending on the prototype assessments, the team plans to work towards a cloud offering of the Orb database.
