Bridging the gap prototype to strengthen the bond between school and civil society

Purpose and goal:

We want to develop a prototype that can create tangible system change regarding the boundary between activities in school and free time.

With school sports associations as a tool, we want, together with actors from the public, private and non-profit sectors, to develop a working method that enables the school to bring civil society into the work to create an equal schooling. The pilot´s aim is to contribute to more children reaching upper secondary school, by combining the school´s mission and civil society´s competence and using each other´s forums and resources.

Expected results and effects:

We expect greater sector-wide work in schools, which provides the conditions for adults in civil society and schools who work with children to focus on preventive and promotional efforts. We expect to contribute to countering the trend where time-strapped staff in these sectors do not have the same opportunity to reach out to children who are not well.

Expected effects will then be that we can create good conditions for good relationships between staff and students in an environment of young people for young people. This contributes to blurring the sharp line between school and free time. Approach and implementation:

We begin by mapping and developing common processes together with the project group to develop the basis for the prototype and its distribution. Then the prototype is tested and revised in a real environment where we have ongoing meetings for school and leisure staff. In parallel throughout the work, advocacy work is carried out in municipalities.

There, coordinator together with the project team will reach out with the prototype´s results and effects to those who have influence over service distributions. Finally these results will disseminate through various bigger conferences.
