The Swedish Research School in Migration and Integration is organised by the Universities of Linköping and Gothenburg.
It aims to provide Swedish and international PhD students with the opportunity to participate in advanced teaching and research training in the areas of migration and integration. Migration and integration have emerged as salient policy challenges in many parts of the world.
To further the scientific response to these challenges our school seeks to contribute to the training of future researchers in the field of migration and integration.
Since these research fields suffer from weak representation within PhD education, the school intends to serve as a national and international hub for PhD teaching, research-training and networking.
The research school is organised through the partnership of two strong research institutions, the universities of Linköping and Gothenburg, and benefits from a wide range of theoretical and methodological approaches and specializations. Our combined expertise enables us to offer both comprehensive and specialised courses.
Whereas the comprehensive courses, which are four in total, cover the main theoretical, methodological and empirical approaches, our six specialized courses focus on key themes such as climate change, the labour market, welfare policy, housing segregation, citizenship and globalization. The partnership will allow for a dynamic curriculum that is responsive to crucial issues and student demand.
