Swedish Quantum Innovation Platform (SQIP) - a national innovation platform for Quantum Technology

The aim of the project was to investigate and evaluate the conditions and approaches to create a national platform for collaboration, innovation and utilization of quantum technology. The goals of the project included a current analysis of innovation support in Sweden and other countries, a needs analysis and specification of requirements for and proposals for the design of and implementation plan for a Swedish innovation platform. The purpose has been fulfilled and all objectives have been achieved.

Expected results and effects:

The project has resulted in a clear picture of what the area´s stakeholders see as a need for innovation support, as well as a proposal for the design of a Swedish innovation platform for quantum technology. Furthermore, the project has contributed to strengthening the cooperation between innovation support actors and stakeholders in Sweden. The project will likely lead to the implementation of a national platform for innovation support and coordination, which will strengthen the commercial potential for Swedish quantum technology and contribute to building a new industry.

Approach and implementation:

An important part of the project work has been to engage the need owners, i.e. the potential users of a platform, and this has been done in interviews (approx. 35) and workshops (3). Through this, we have been able to set a relevant requirement specification and design a platform model that offers the functions and meets the needs that the need owners are asking for.

The project has worked closely with the WACQT research initiative and built on collaboration between innovation support actors from the universities - Chalmers, Lund (LU) and KTH - that are part of the initiative.
