Prioritized efforts for increased digitization

Innovation and new applications, one of four areas within the innovation program Smart Built Environment, focusing on promotion of good ideas with a clear purpose, possible to implement and provide value in an organization or process within a foreseeable time.

The background to the current project is the need to address challenges, arising in attempts of broad implementations of innovative solutions/working methods/methods, that often clash with today´s legislation, regulations, and policies of public organizations.

Challenges experienced, both within the framework of the innovation program Smart Built Environment work and other initiatives for innovation, as innovative solutions, both technical and organisational, have difficulties entering the market due to hindering legislation and regulations.The purpose of this project is to identify and describe obstacles, as well as prioritize efforts for increased digitization in the construction industry.

This with a focus on legislation, regulations, and public organizations´ policies possible to influence by the state, regions, and municipalities through the exercise of authority and political decisions.

The implementation of the project is largely based on a review of existing reports, investigations, and analyses regarding digitization approaches in the construction industry.

In addition to this, interviews and focus group meetings are conducted with the aim to identify obstacles and prioritizing efforts for increased digitization, with a focus on legislation, regulations and the policy of public organizations.Results from the project will be presented in a report describing prioritized areas for further development of laws, regulations and public organizations´ policies for increased digitization.

This together with a clear picture of actors (public, authorities and politicians) who are affected and who should be addressed.
