VFT at Luleå University of technology

Purpose and goal:

The project aims to by the use of VFT-funding increase the maturity of potential innovations derived from education and research at Luleå University of Technology.

The goal is to verify 50 potential innovation of which about 10 of them reaching the next step in realization such as new ventures, incubation, financial funding, etc. The VFT-funds shall be distributed on equal terms. Expected results and effects:

The VFT project will lead to investigations about novelty, market potential and other utilization of potential innovations. Combined with the university innovation counseling this will strengthen the offer for students and researchers. This can lead to new collaborations, new ventures and increased competitiveness as well as work opportunities, tax income and sustainable solutions.

Measurable results will be number of verified ideas and number of ideas that goes on to different types of realization. Approach and implementation:

The project aligns to the university’s innovation counseling guidelinesand is planned to be carried out within two work packages: 1.Project management

The project manager makes sure that the project purpose and goals are met, reports to VINNOVA and participates in national collaborative meetings. 2.VFT-funding in innovations support

The VFT-leader makes sure that VFT guidelines are followed, innovations managers use VFT-funds to increase the case maturity or abandonment and the whole management team takes decisions, and follow up this.
