Integration of organizational and social aspect in the pre-design process

Purpose and goal:

In general, the Swedish metal industry has a high quality of its work environment work. There is an awareness of the advantage of considering work environment issues at an early stage. The problem is that questions about organizational and social work environment do not really fit into this framework.

Our project aims to broaden the perspective so that also these issues will be considered in the early planning phases. With the right handling of these issues, the industry can offer attractive workplaces in a safe work environment. The project is carried out together with SSAB in Luleå. Expected results and effects:

The project is planned for three types of results.

Guidelines for handling of organizational and social work environment issues that will be implementing it in SSAB´s routines for planning changes in production A generalization of the results presented as recommendations addressed to the metal industry companies. An article published in an internationally recognized scientific journal.

Approach and implementation:

The project will form a tool for how organizational and social work environment issues (OSA) can be integrated into the planning phase of rebuilding and new construction of industrial facilities. The project is divided into five work packages: 1. Mapping of models and working methods 2. Studies of completed projects
