Grant Description

Purpose and goal:

Many organizations develop their operations through digitalisation, but few are part of a change process that is as extensive and complex as the introduction of Framtidens Vårdinformationsmiljö in Västra-Götaland. Lerums municipality, Sahlgrenska Universitetssjukhus and Högskolan i Skövde have developed a project proposal with the aim:

- to develop research-based knowledge about challenges in leading and organizing for standardization in digital transformation - and contribute to successful development, communication and implementation of uniform working methods in FVM Expected results and effects:

The project team has successfully pilot-tested the research strategy for the upcoming Stage 2 project. It has generated a deeper understanding of the research problem "leading and organizing for standardization" and has demonstrated the potential of the upcoming project. It has also resulted in the research strategy being refined, both in terms of WHAT exactly is to be studied, and HOW data is to be collected and analyzed.

In summary, the planning grant has made it possible to write a more focused and stronger project application for Stage 2. Approach and implementation:

The project conducted a full-day meeting in December 2021 where the problem owners made a selection of four relevant ongoing digitalisation projects (case studies). For each case study, three interviews were conducted with people in different roles (healthcare staff, operations manager, management position).

Outcomes from the 12 interviews conducted have already shown in this planning phase that very interesting empirical material can be collected. In January 2022 the project plan for Stage 2.was completed in a dialogue meeting with all stakeholders.
