Purpose and goal:
The aim has been to further develop a reusable technology to clean water from mercury in a sustainable and effective way. Several prototypes have been developed and tested in the field to evaluate performance and demonstrate the product´s value to potential customers. We have entered into cooperation with a major player in waste management and developed a joint business model. The project has generated several milestones, which reduce the risk of investing in the technology and the company.
Expected results and effects:
The project has resulted in the company reaching several important technical- and business related milestones, thereby creating strong conditions for launching the first commercial product and for attracting external financing. By developing prototypes that have been tested in the field, the TRL level has been raised and crucial knowledge about performance, cost and customer value has been generated.
Approach and implementation:
In the beginning of the project, a CTO was hired, which, together with investments in lab equipment, has greatly accelerated the company´s technology development. This also meant that we were able to relocate part of the costs from consulting to salary costs, and in this way also preserve the knowledge within the company and get more work done with the same budget.
The prototypes developed have been tested both in the lab and in the field together with potential customers, which has contributed to valuable insights into how we can continue to develop our technology.
