How to overthrow the dictatorship of circumstances in the infrastructure industry

Purpose and goal:

The purpose of the project is to identify a number of key barriers that are important to overcome for accelerating the implementation of low-carbon materials and methods in infrastructure projects, and to formulate possible solution proposals for these. The main goal is that the proposed solutions could be used to sharpen future calls and strategic projects within InfraSweden2030, primarily focusing on developing innovations in organization, work processes, knowledge sharing, policy and instruments.

Expected results and effects:

The project has resulted in a report presenting a brief summary of the barrier analysis carried out within Mistra Carbon Exit, solution proposals for three common barriers that were highlighted in the barrier analysis, as well as a summary of suggestions for continued collaboration between InfraSweden2030 and MCE identified at joint workshop.

The results will be further developed in future calls and joint projects between InfraSweden2030 and Mistra Carbon Exit. Approach and implementation:

The project was based on a barrier analysis carried out within Mistra Carbon Exit, from which three common barriers were identified.

Draft solution proposals for these three barriers were developed in two joint workshops with the management of InfraSweden2030 and Mistra Carbon Exit, as well as follow-up interviews with experts.

Possibilities for further collaboration between InfraSweden2030 and MCE was discussed and developed at the same joint workshops.
