DigitalWell Demand Accelerator

Purpose and goal:

The challenges within the public sector has the potential to be a significant innovation driver. The project resulted in a new methodology, where we take advantage of the innovative strength of the companies, in order to meet the challenges, and demands of the public sector and stimulate innovation and scaling from a demand perspective. The goal of the projekt, to develop structures that

stimulates innovation and scaling from a demand perspective is fulfilled, and a scaleable demand accelerator is established. Expected results and effects:

The expected result, that a demand accelerator ver. 1.0 is etablished, is fulfilled. DigitalWell Demand Accelerator has got the assignment to process lead another public procurement, using demand acceleration methodology, with Karlstad municipality. The municipality have also added demand acceleration to its innovation plan, showing that the methodology is percieved as a way to facilitate development and procurement of digital services, with a scaleability perspective.

Approach and implementation:

The demand accelerator was developed through an agile approach, where one actual procurement was conducted together with public sector and innovative companies. Originally, the ambition was to conduct more cases, but because of the choice to integrate development with the procurement process, we decided to conduct one case only, from first idea of a need, to fully procured solution, ready for implementation.

Therefor the project was prolonged with 4 months, in order to also allow for the establishment of a demand acceleration, DigitalWell Demand Accelerator, within the project.
