WaveMove Wave Energy Converter

Purpose and goal:

OE systems objective with the project was to verify whether there is a market for wave energy and develop the company´s business model. The goal was to, through dialogue with industry players, get an idea of the conditions and what plans established marine energy companies have for wave energy. Expected results and effects:

During the project, we received confirmation that there is a large market for wave energy and that the company´s further developed business plan was well received by established companies. At the same time, we received feedback that established marine energy companies are very skeptical of wave energy due to the technical challenges and lack of interesting results from existing solutions.

The outcome of the project is that OE Systems will complete optimizations of the company´s solution to show the efficiency curve for the customers´ specific intended installation sites. Approach and implementation:

The project was carried out through team meetings as wells as physical meetings. The project group has extensive experience in offshore energy and was able to have a dialogue with leading people at both customers, offshore energy suppliers and investors. The dialouges gave a consistent picture of both technology and possible commercialization, although the angle of approach differed depending on background.

The overall picture from conversation partners gave OE Systems a good overall understanding of what needs to be done in order to succeed with the company´s wave energy solution.
