We hereby nominate professor Raphael Cohen-Almagor for the Olof Palme Visiting Professorship 2023. Raphael Cohen-Almagor (born 1961) is currently Chair Professor at the University of Hull, the United Kingdom. The nomination is for 12 months: starting in January 2023.
Cohen-Almagor is an international leading and highly prolific scholar who has produced pathbreaking research in the field of peace and conflict, and on Middle East peacemaking.
He is hosted by the Centre for Advanced Middle Eastern Studies and the Department of Political Science at Lund University that provide a vibrant interdisciplinary research environment for Cohen-Almagor to finalise his novel monograph on Resolving the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
During his professorship, he will be working closely with a number of leading Swedish scholars who seek to establish long-term research collaboration with him on various issues related to democracy, human rights, justice, conflict resolution, and diplomacy.
