Popswap - circular economy in your closet

Purpose and goal:

The goal of the project was to reach product market adaptation through Popswap through user interviews, data collection and product development and identify a sustainable business model. Popswap´s thousands of users show that there is a great interest in innovative and alternative solutions to today´s fashion consumption. The goal was to show that there is commercial viability in a circular business model and inspire the fashion industry to challenge its business models and contribute to an increased circular economy.

Expected results and effects:

Since the start of the project, Popswap has continued to accelerate to a large extent in both the number of downloads (~hundreds per day) and returning users (~ 85 percent per month). By implementing the results from the project, we believe the number of users will continue to increase and verify that Popswap not only has an environmentally sustainable concept, but also an economically sustainable business, which can attract larger financiers.

Approach and implementation: Research: User interviews and data collection as a basis for further development. Aware of the environmental aspect of clothing: Collection of data on the impact of textiles on the environment. Scalability-assured product: Investigated and evaluated necessary efforts to meet greater demand.

Product development: New functions have been tested internally and with users before full implementation. Explored new business models: A / B-tested potential B2C functions and by design.
