This application concerns the continuation of the national research infrastructure consortium CORS (Comparative Research Center Sweden).
The consortium incorporates the largest, most influential and most widely used, international and national survey programs in Sweden. These are ESS, EVS, ISSP, SCP, SHARE and SNES.
The aim of the CORS consortium is to enable class-leading comparative survey research, and to contribute to improved policymaking and democratic debate in Sweden.
CORS reaches its main objective by (1) providing an unprecedented diversity of content, (2) by enabling measurement of change in social phenomena and (3) to make comparison between entities (for example, countries) possible.
In addition to the six survey modules, five functional resource modules and a steering group are also included in the organization. A director leads CORS. Collecting data constitutes the main part of the costs for the CORS consortium.
CORS provides the research community with world-leading survey data that enables researchers in Sweden and elsewhere to produce survey research on a variety of topics. The quality of data is evident in the number of top decile publications based on our data. We measure usage in hundreds of thousands around the world and surpass five figures in Sweden.
CORS provides the opportunity to produce knowledge about Sweden and Swedish phenomena in a comparative perspective over time.
The sheer amount of research from Swedish scholars and the number of studies focusing on Sweden is evidence of that.
CORS incorporates several new features during this period, including more longitudinal data, a new household panel and more content, new technical solutions and more.
CORS contributes to society with high-quality data that cover a diversity of topics over a long period of time that can be accessed free of charge.
