Precision forestry with computer vision

Purpose and goal:

Arboair has worked with developing a prototype to be able to run our AI model with a satellite analysis solution in a two-step solution in a Cloud-based portal. The project has gone well and Arboair will launch the solution commercially next year. Expected results and effects:

This solution has been expected to provide direct value for forest owners and forest companies, which it has done. During the project, we have been able to show financial savings for users and reduced carbon dioxide emissions as valuable timber could be saved. In the long term, we see that our solution will be able to become the forest owner´s and forest companies´ everyday tools.

Approach and implementation:

The work in the project has taken place in eight work packages from further developing the existing solution to verifying the technology with users and testing in external environments. This has been done with good results as the model has been able to be further developed efficiently and the finished prototype has been tested in an external environment by users.

The most important activities have been working with users to understand how the prototype can create value for them.
