Purpose and goal: Our goal is to develop a wearable robotic glove (FutureGlove) for hand impaired patients. It will enable and empower people with hand dysfunctions to perform daily activities, making the rehabilitation more effective. The glove will be combined with a software module monitoring the patients’ progress, as well as a mobile application
providing an access to the patients’ results. Thanks to the iterative process of development we will deliver a user-centric innovative rehabilitation system. Expected results and effects: The FutureGlove adds extra strength and increases grip for people with reduced hand functions and enables them
to perform rehabilitation at home. Bioservo has identified a significant need to treat this diagnosis and recovery quicker and in a more efficient and independent way. By offering the patients a possibility to exercise wherever they are, we want to support them in becoming more independent, make the rehabilitation process more effective
and reduce the burden of the healthcare system. Approach and implementation: The method that we will use for creating the FutureGlove is based on scientific research that was tested and perfected through multiple years of cooperation between Bioservo, the researchers at the Royal Institute of Technology, doctors at Karolinska University Hospital and Danderyd´s hospital since 2006.
