Grant Description

Purpose and goal:

The objective of this project is to show that the HCT-concept can be applied in cities. The target is to perform pilots in two cities and to propose necessary changes in order to roll out HCT-concepts in transports of construction material, earth and gravel. The project will show a potential of a 50% reduction of number of trucks and 40% reduction of CO2. Furthermore, the project will disseminate benefits concerning traffic flow, local emissions, road wear and safety.

Expected results and effects: -Knowledge building and datacollection for future implementation of HCT in urban areas -New knowledge about optimizing trucks in urban areas and data for how future approvals of HCT in urban areas need to be developed. -New knowledge about optimized vehicle models for best transport efficiency

-Results for updating the Roadmap for HCT-road regarding HCT in urban areas. -Increased opportunities for new test sites, for example for testing quiet and fossil-free vehicles by using the project experience and results. Approach and implementation:

The project will be managed in a project group where all work package leaders participate. The project consists of eight work packages. This includes a steering group with the participation of one member from each partner as well as a reference group consisting of yet five more companies and municipalities.
