Purpose and goal:

The aim of the project was to manufacture lightweight composites based on FineCell´s materials and Tahes plastics. This is something that was initiated within the project and shown that there is a high potential to achieve this. In order to achieve the full potential of the mateirals additional activities are planned.

The project has led to new collaborations, both between Tahe and FineCell, which creates a basis for developing new materials together. In addition to this, FineCell creates relationships with a player who has the expertise and equipment to process FineCell´s materials with plastic on a suitable scale. This is considered a prerequisite for being able to effectively develop new composite solutions.

Approach and implementation:

FineCell has focused a lot on finding the right partners to process and evaluate composites containing their cellulose powder. Through this work, it will be possible to effectively evaluate different materials and processes to finally find a solution that reaches the full potential material mixture. By running a number of different mixtures within the project, we have seen that it is a good structure to be able to achieve good performance in an efficient way.
