Purpose and goal:
The aim of the project has been to evaluate whether Isobetong can be used for more complicated construction elements by using additively manufactured large-scale molds. It has been shown that 3D-printed molds in thermoplastic can be used for casting of Isobetong. The larger and more complex the geometries become, the more important it is to adapt the design of the molds to additive manufacturing.
Expected results and effects:
3D-printed molds can be used to cast Isobetong to create construction elements with a low CO2 footprint. The method provides increased opportunities to create and adapt more complicated design elements. Approach and implementation:
The project focused on using 3D-printed molds for casting of Isobetong, which proved to be feasible. Increasing size and complexity of the molds also increases the demand for adapting them to additive manufacturing in order to reach successful results.
