Grant Description

Purpose and goal:

Development of autonomous vehicles is a test intensive endeavour and increased deployment on public roads will incur an exponential increase of testing needs. The only economically viable and organisationally scalable option is to gradually progress from the physical test track into automated and simulated test environments. The goal with this project was to build tools and procedures that can improve the verification & validation strategy for autonomous vehicles.

Expected results and effects:

This project has designed and developed a set of key components in the verification & validation toolchain used in the development process for electric autonomous vehicles. This toolset is critical in enabling a partially automated workflow that supports preparation, execution and analysis of tests in multiple test environments with a short feedback time.

Approach and implementation:

Thanks to the project, the basic workflows and tools are in place to enforce quality assurance of the verification process and allow the test organization to focus on enabling a higher throughput through the process with solid confidence in our method and tools of choice.

Since the start of the project the company has received permits to drive on public roads with the Einride Pod both in Sweden and in the US and the interest from customers is big.
