Purpose and goal:

The project´s purpose & goal is to develop a construction that meets the safety requirements for work in environments where the machine cab is tiltable up to 30 °. Examples of work areas are demolition work and tunnel construction.

Today´s glass solutions for these tasks require external protection in the form of grilles or equivalent, and this has a major negative impact on the driver´s visibility, work efficiency and the safety of personnel outside the working machine. The finished solution will be tested in the field in collaboration with machine manufacturers and end customer.

The result of the project will be that machine operators can perform their work in a significantly more efficient and safer way. Today´s protection solutions in the form of grilles or equivalent become superfluous.

Approach and implementation: The project is carried out together with glass suppliers, machine manufacturer and suppliers of laminating materials.

Great emphasis has been placed on testing of various glass constructions in combination with frame constructions.

A number of test cycles have been carried out internally, and will continue to be carried out until we are satisfied with the outcome of several continuous tests.
