Mobile Application for ID management

Purpose and goal: The goal was to develop and demonstrate a prototype of a mobile application for ID management, which has

developed key functions and is integrated with 365id current system solution. The project ran into problems with a vital function that has required a lot of resources and we have reached approx. 50% goal fulfillment. Expected results and effects:

The project has now developed a mobile application that takes a picture of ID documents, the biometric chip in passports and European national ID cards can be read out. A video function is implemented to verify that it is a real person, which also includes facial recognition. Everything is compiled and the result can be sent on for processing.

Approach and implementation:

The project was affected by the pandemic in the first year, where it was difficult to add resources. After that, the project continued according to plan, until we encountered challenges with the actual taking of photos of the ID documents. It turned out to be a bigger challenge and after a lot of work we have now made the decision to bring in a third party imaging technology. With hindsight, we should have made that decision earlier.

We have come a long way with the project and have an app that takes in information from ID documents and verifies the user.
