Purpose and goal:
The purpose was to enable cost-effective cascade screening, as the methods for cascade screening today are manual, time-consuming and hampered by the organizational and regulatory reality we have. The goal was achieved by further developement of the technical platform and additional clinics have chosen to start using the digital cascade screening for patients with other disease groups than those that were previously relevant during the pilot phase of fhabian.nu.
Expected results and effects:
An expected results when using the platform is an optimal utilization of healthcare resources when collecting and assessing information and communicating with the patient in a simple and cost-effective way. With the updated platform for the digital physical care, the individual´s journey through healthcare has been simplified and made more efficient. This results in better outcomes and health economy.
Approach and implementation:
The project has mainly been performed by resources at Health Solutions with the help of the project partners Amgen and Karolinska Universitetssjukhuset.
During phase one, a list of need was created based on experience from the pilot project. During phase two, a feasibility study was conducted to identify an additional diagnosis for cascade screening, which also identified a need to expand the existing platform with more patient groups that could to be diagnosed.
In phase three to five the list of needs was defined and implemented to the now more generic platform for cascade screening.
