Purpose and goal:
Hållbar interiör wants to raise awareness and reduce the environmental impact of premises by developing a certification for interiors and a tool to support the process. Expected results and effects: Hållbar interiör (HI) leads in the short term to: - Reduced waste and carbon emissions from the furniture industry.
- The interior design industry has agreed on what constitutes a sustainable interior and there is a common policy instrument. - Other digital tools have been strengthened through integration with HI. - HI has resulted in an increased importance of interiors in construction projects. In the long term:
- Swedish furniture manufacturers have switched to circular business models and are now actively working on "design for reuse". - HI has been replicated in several other areas. Approach and implementation:
Hållbar Interiör consists of two different parts; a certification and a tool that supports the process to the certification. A tenant should be able to certify its premises and thereby obtain a measure of the total environmental impact of an interior project. In order to actively work towards a certification where a certain level is to be maintained, an important part of the project will also be to develop a digital tool for those who work with interiors.
