The purpose of this research collaboration is to develop a long-term sustainable network between research groups from Luleå University of Technology (Sweden), The Arctic University of Norway – UiT (Norway), University of Helsinki (Finland), and University of Akureyri (Iceland), with a focus on digitalised teacher education.
The network aims to explore student teachers’ and teacher educators’ practises, conceptualisations, relations, and professional self-formation in an era of digitalised education. Our focus lies particularly on questions concerning the role of the body and of presence in education.
By this, we aim to gain a deeper understanding of the conditions for and the significance of temporal and spatial dimensions in education.Planned research activities are, e.g. various research projects, workshops, research exchange, application writings, and dissemination in form of joint scientific publications and presentations.
The research will draw attention to comparative and contrasting educational research and also contribute to the scientific and public debate on contemporary education issues related to the project theme.
The research collaboration will provide an opportunity to create a trans-national network and initiate research collaborations between senior and junior researchers and PhD students.
The project will form network trajectories of collaboration and exchange, which will continue to develop and multiply long after the end of the grant period.
