Since early months of 2020, when the WHO declared a global state of emergency, many communities are in a challenging situation coping with the ongoing crisis.
Data suggest that some communities are more affected than others, and those who appear to be affected most are those in disadvantaged urban areas.
Yet, little is known about the nature, extend, and implications this crisis has on their lived experiences, and about their processes of recovery.
This project aims to develop a Learning Intervention of the form of a digital (Open Access) repository of semi-structured interviews with a selection of key respondents, and additional qualitative data, focusing on the deconstruction of the ongoing crisis and processes of recovery in communities from socially and economically deprived areas.
The digital repository of interviews is envisioned with embedded elements which would allow analysis, comparison and contrast across the collected data, which will be made freely available under Open Access for policy, practice, and many other target groups to access and use.
This Learning Intervention will be a resource for three different target groups and i) helping local communities to reflect in given ways about the crisis, and about their recovery processes, ii) gathering qualitative data for current and future scientific research, which could usefully add depth to quantitative questions about e.g. cause-effect, and iii) supporting policy- and decision makers with information.
