Personalized prevention and therapy for RA; Combining patient reported information, epidemiology, genetics and immunologyOverall purpose and aims: To enable, implement and evaluate novel ways for personalized prevention and therapy for Rheumatoid arthritis (RA)More specific aims are to:better understand the role of genetic, environmental and clinical factors for the emergence and course of different subsets of RA.develop better diagnostic and immuno-surveillance tools and algorithms that enable identification of emerging RA and monitoring of disease development in different subsets of RAdetermine the impact of life style changes in combination with pharmacological interventions for different symptoms and clinical signs of RAdevelop and evaluate digital tools that provide patients and health care with appropriate information and capacity to implement personalized prevention and personalized therapies for RAThe work plan is based on a combined use of longitudinal cohorts, novel digitalized ways to capture patient-derived and molecular information and initiation of novel ways for dividing patients into subsets relevant for personalized prevention and early therapy.The long term clinical significance of our work should be a shift of the care of RA from the present care of already established disease to an emphasis on personalized prevention of disease in individuals with symptoms of emerging RA but without joint inflammation and joint destruction.
