The Ministry of Environment and Forests (MOEF) Capacity Building activity provides training and technical assistance to strengthen the human and organizational capacity of the MOEF to manage programs in environmental protection, sustainable forest management and climate change adaptation and mitigation.
The activity has three main outputs: 1) the refinement, adoption, and implementation of a Country Investment Plan for Environment, Forestry and Climate Change; 2) improved functional and organizational capacity in the MOEF to efficiently address emerging national and global environmental, forestry and climate change issues, and 3) the enhanced technical capacities in the MOEF and its agencies.
The activity is an important part of the U.S.
Enhancing Capacity for Low Emission Development Strategies (EC-LEDS) agreement and based on the conclusions of the MOEF Situation Analysis and Capacity Need Assessment.
