Grant Description

To develop new on-demand and longer-acting microbicide products that can reach or be ready for clinical testing with the timeframe of the agreement and meet the criteria of being more potent, acceptable, discreet, longer and broader acting in order to improve adherence and effectiveness.

This project includes the following activities: Advancing the clinical development of novel TFV-based products that are already or will be in clinical testing prior to the start of this project; Developing improved, more effective microbicide products using on-demand and longer-acting drug delivery systems; and, Expanding the preclinical pipeline by designing and testing new formulations incorporating novel microbicide candidates with different mechanisms of action.
