The Ghana Commercial Agriculture Project (GCAP) is a $145 million collaboration between the Government of Ghana's Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA), the World Bank, and USAID that aims to improve the competitiveness of Ghanaian commercial agriculture. USAID's $50 million contribution is funded through a Public International Organization (PIO) grant to the World Bank.
The purpose of GCAP is to reduce poverty and food security in northern Ghana through increased private sector investment that leads to an expansion of smallholder production, productivity, and increases in household incomes.
GCAP will coordinate with and rely heavily on other Feed the Future activities to address specific technical challenges and inputs related to commercializing agriculture in Northern Ghana.
