Education for Children and Youth Activity

The activity is aligned to the prosperity and security pillars of the CEN Strategy by improving the quality of and access to educational opportunities for lower secondary school children and out-of-school youth in targeted high crime municipalities.

Activities include: training principals, teachers, and students on improved learning methodologies; technical assistance, educational materials and equipment for safe spaces for learning; technical assistance for enhanced community participation to help reintegrate school drop-outs back into a formal school setting or to earn an equivalent diploma; vocational/life skills training to out-of-school youth; and institutional strengthening to a consortium of local education NGOs.

Activities will support expansion of the GOES' full-time inclusive school model and will increase the capacity of local NGOs to manage education programs and directly contribute to USAID's goal of increasing access to education in crisis and conflict environments.
