Grant Description

The Catalyzing Clean Energy in Bangladesh (CCEB) activity promotes energy security, economic growth and climate change mitigation by providing technical assistance to public sector institutions (e.g. ministries, agencies) and the private sector (e.g. NGOs, microfinance institutions, businesses).

CCEB is strengthening the energy regulatory environment, promoting industrial energy efficiency adoption through small grants as incentives, and promoting clean energy development through the adoption of new technology such as improved cook stoves.

CCEB works in consultation with the Government of Bangladesh ministries, donor agencies, energy utilities, private sector energy end-users and other relevant stakeholders to support energy sector development.

Through CCEB the Mission is participating in the EC-LEDS program and was one of the first Missions to sign an EC-LEDS agreement with a host government.
