USAID/Mali delivers technical assistance through the training, consultation and studies group, G-Force, a local nongovernmental organization to participating water management associations, through organizing and managing the distribution of irrigated water to farms in the Alatona region of Mali.
The assistance strengthens the capacity of participating water management and water user associations and ensures an effective operation and adequate maintenance of the Alatona irrigated perimeter which was made possible through a Millennium Challenge Corporation investment.
This activity uses a participatory and inclusive approach with particular emphasis on supporting women and protecting the environment.
This project will indirectly contribute to the GCC sub-theme adaptation by increasing the resilience to climate change through better water and soil management systems for crop production.
