Grant Description

The Judicial Strengthening Program aims to increase the independence, effectiveness, and integrity of the judicial system through a more fair and open system of trials and court processes.

The program focuses on the human and institutional capacity of the Kyrgyz Republic's judiciary by developing skills and improving processes. The program plans to increase the transparency of key judicial systems and reduce corruption within the courts.

Four anticipated results include: (1) the Judicial Council will be better able to advocate for sufficient budget allocation based on its approved strategic plan; (2) the Judicial Training Center will be better equipped to host quality training courses; (3) a courtroom security strategy will be developed in partnership with all judicial sector actors; and (4) a court information system program will be expanded to a larger number of court.
