Grant Description

PPL continues to represent the USG in the new Global Partnership for Effective Development Cooperation (GPEDC), influence its agenda, and provide grants to support its work, which may include joint learning and capacity building at the country level.

Grant funds will be provided through an existing mechanism to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), one of the two partner organizations which comprise the joint support team for GPEDC.

The joint support team supports operational preparations for Steering Committee and ministerial-level meetings, advisory support to the Steering Committee and co-chairs, critical capacity building and monitoring work at the country level, and may directly undertake some studies.

Such joint activities will reflect GPEDC priorities that the US successfully negotiated at the 4th High Level Forum on Aid Effectiveness, especially those to which the US has expressed a strong commitment.

Examples include: improving transparency, ensuring mutual accountability, strengthening institutional capacity, and engaging the private sector.
