Grant Description

JILEP supports and strengthens the Georgian judicial and legal systems.

It seeks to create an effective, fair and independent judiciary by improving the process by which judges are appointed, trained and disciplined.

The project also strengthens the legal aid system, the legal NGO community, and practicing attorneys in Georgia, increasing the publics understanding of the role of the judiciary.

JILEP contributes to the improvement of the legal education system by supporting university libraries and clinics, improving teaching methods, curricula, and by developing cutting edge experimental learning programs and materials.

Finally, the project helps improve the commercial law environment through the development of materials, workshops, and legal reform initiatives.
