The USAID Indonesian Forestry and Climate Support (IFACS) Project will make a substantial contribution toward achieving the Government of Indonesias goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 26 % by the year 2020, through providing compelling incentives and developing the capacity of forest stakeholders to support low emissions development strategies.
Implemented as a Task Order under the Prosperity, Livelihoods and Conserving Ecosystems (PLACE) IQC, USAID IFACS seeks to reduce the threats of deforestation and climate change, and to help the Government of Indonesia (GOI) conserve the countrys tropical forests, wildlife, and ecosystem processes (including carbon sequestration).
