Grant Description

This project focuses on farm-to-market development model that improves the economic and social livelihoods of participating households in poor communities.

It uses a two-fold approach: i) the introduction of innovative horticultural technology and equipment to poor communities; and ii) focused technical and management training of community members in the production of high-value crops.

The project is helping to shift Timor-Leste's agricultural sector from subsistence farming to commercially-oriented agricultural production.

Participating communities are able to increase their incomes by meeting the needs of a demanding market that is willing to pay a premium price for quality products.
