Grant Description

Equal Exchange works with producer cooperatives in the Dominican Republic, Peru and Ecuador.

The intended results are increased farmer incomes through improved productivity and the marketing of quality cocoa and coffee beans produced by farmer members of cooperatives that meet demanding international standards as critical ingredients in specialty markets.

Through working with model co-operatives, this project shares methodologies, equipment, and lessons learned with other co-operatives that are unable to meet measurable international standards.
