Cooperative Resources International (CRI), works in partnership with livestock producer cooperatives in Nicaragua and South Africa to address food security, and economic growth priorities in Central America and Sub-Saharan Africa.
The CRI project supports livestock producer cooperatives' efforts to develop and extend sustainable agricultural production methods, to access affordable inputs thereby enhancing productivity, and to increase commercial market share through elevated food commodity quality and organization innovations.
The key anticipated outcomes of this program assistance will strengthen livestock cooperative organization.
Lessons, strategies, and innovations learned will be shared with the development community through the CRI-Land O' Lakes International Dairy Enterprise Alliance (IDEA), bi-annual IDEA learning events, the IDEA Website, and CRI industry and trade publications.
Implementing enterprise cooperative strategies with planning and information systems, CRI will improve the market performance of least 10 cooperatives.
