Grant Description

Traditional glass fabrication produces medium to large sized parts, typically with low resolution and simple geometry.

Moving towards higher resolution and more complex structures becomes increasingly more challenging and expensive or is simply inaccessible.Nobula3D printer, with its unique and patent-pending Direct Glass Laser Deposition (DGLD) technology, is the first commercial system that can directly 3D print glass from a glass filament without the need of post-processing.

It enables cost-efficient printing of highly customized and complex glass parts with short lead-time.

The printers require no infrastructure, offering unique possibilities to transform glass fabrication in ways not possible today. We generated initial market traction as we have offered prototyping services to academic institutions (e.g., Lund University, KTH) and we have ongoing discussions with interested industrial players (e.g., Scientific-Lab Glass, Schott, Yokogawa, Heraeus, Saint-Gobain, Luxottica).
