Electrical brain stimulation has been successfully used since the 1990s to treat neurological illnesses, particularly movement disorders. Most of the devices for this novel approach are based on the old pacemaker technology. Companies are unwilling to take device development risks & rely on established tech, limiting new therapy developments.
Many neurological diseases are still treated with pharmaceuticals only, which has limited effectiveness and causes severe side effects. Neuromodulationelectrical stimulation research has increased in recent decades. Additional recording capabilities & closed loop therapy expand therapeutic options.
CorTec aims to provide novel implantable tech to overcome the current limitations: it enables researchers, medical institutions & industry to develop new therapies & devices.
We plan to finalise the development of our tech for stroke rehabilitation, conduct clinical trials & get market approval in 2029, generating 250M in sales in 2030.
