With the H2020 ENERZ-101009255 grant, Enerpoly successfully developed a zinc-ion battery cell product using production equipment typical to lithium-ion batteries.
The zinc-ion battery offers a cost-effective, reliable, and sustainable solution for stationary energy storage with non-critical materials sourced in Europe.
Feedback from customers (energy storage integrators) is positive, but customers want Enerpoly to scale production to reduce design barriers, time-to-volume, and time-to-market.
The European Zinc-ion Plant (EUROZIP) project establishes a Customer Qualification Plant (CQP) located in Europe to improve operational efficiency, reduce costs, and increase profitability of zinc-ion manufacturing.
EUROZIP also refines and matures Enerpoly's sustainability-focused corporate structure and processes to achieve company scalability.
This scalability will enable commercialization at GWh-scale, making Enerpoly's zinc-ion batteries available for the European energy transition.
