Grant Description

Feed the Future Partnering for Innovation~will support the Mission in developing Public Private Partnerships to identify and scale-up viable agricultural technologies, support investment in emerging horticulture makets, and strengthen business models to contribute to increases in incomes for smallholder farmers.~ The mechanism will help build profitable, sustainable businesses by investing in them to launch effective agricultural technologies and will~spur private sector investment to disseminate those technologies to smallholders, especially women, in Guatemala. ~This field support buy-in will work with two private businesses through Public Private Partnerships to increase their activities in the FTF ZOI: (1) Asociacion Popoy, will be marketing beneficial organisms for integrate pest management in horticulture value chains in the Western Highlands; (2) Unispice will work with farmers to increase brussel sprout production and decrease the rejection rate.
