Grant Description

USAID, an independent agency that directs theU.S.federal governments humanitarian assistance program in many sectors, extends aid to countries that are recovering from disaster, works to reduce poverty, and engages in democratic reforms.

The Assistance to Basic Education (ABE/BE) initiative is anIQC(Indefinite Quantity Contract) designed to supportUSAIDcountry offices worldwide by offering them the means to rapidly access high-quality and cost-effective technical expertise and implementation support for their basic education interventions.EDCis joined by two partners, the Academy for Educational Development andRTIInternational plus a cadre of resource institutions consisting of Aurora Associates International, Inc., Amideast,L.T.Associates, Inc., Mississippi Consortium for International Development andMSI(Management Systems International).

Through theABE/BEagreement,EDCand its partners are eligible to provide technical assistance and services with a cumulative value up to $1 billion to supportUSAIDs basic education Strategic Objectives over five years.
